Miscarriage chromosome testing

The loss of a wanted pregnancy can be very distressing. Approximately 50-60% of pregnancies that miscarry have abnormal chromosomes.

Chromosome studies of the pregnancy products can identify a chromosomal cause for pregnancy failure and may help explain why it failed. Knowing if a chromosome abnormality was present, or not, can also help estimate the likelihood for further miscarriage. If no abnormality is found the cause of miscarriage is more likely to be related to other factors.

We now have a new and quicker test for finding chromosome abnormalites in miscarriages. See our new MLPA Molecular aneuploidy screening test.
